Is it the Gloomy Weather?
Energy is everywhere. It's abundant. You're made up of energy. I'm made up of energy. The Universe is made of energy.
So why is it that, sometimes, we feel like we have "no energy?"
While writing this, I see gray clouds outside with on and off drizzle. This is about the third day in a row with this kind of weather, which, in Colorado, is rare. And it's easy for me to blame the weather for MY low energy. And, perhaps, that's playing a role, but that doesn't seem like the whole story.
So what else?
I've been experimenting with the Bulletproof approach to eating. I've found it to be wonderfully energizing, especially a Bulletproof coffee in the morning. And that's exactly how I started this day – with a Bulletproof coffee. Yet, energy is still elusive for me...
We all have days like these: where motivation is more like a memory than a fuel source; where the weather seems to match our mood; where we feel a bit lost or low.
Sometimes, the message of this energy (or lack thereof) is to take it easy, slow down, and recharge. But if that's NOT the message (we'll know, because our reliable pick-me-ups don't seem to work), then life is calling upon is to reflect and go deeper.
That's exactly what I did.
With the help of my coach, we explored my recent past, how I felt in the present, and what my vision was for the future. And from this work, I discovered what I believe is impacting my energy.
I have a wonderful community at home and at work who are very supportive. I'm so grateful to have those connections. But where I'm looking to GROW, I have less community.
I've grown so much as a coach and I want to grow 10 times more! I want to explore the possible impact I can have with this profession. I've seen it powerfully shift and transform lives. It brings me to a place where my joy, intuition, and creativity sing when I coach – and this inspires others to do the same.
And while that's a powerful source of energy, I haven't nurtured my connection with other coaches in a while. In other words, I haven't cultivated my coach community enough.
A community is place where we feel safe to share our successes and failures. To find encouragement. And by having supportive communities that align with our interests and values, we can find an, often, overlooked source of great energy.
Where's Your Community?
- What are your interests?
- What are you passionate about?
- What's something NEW that you want to get into?
Your answers to those questions will help you pinpoint a community. And, if you choose, you can find ways to connect, contribute, and receive support from others in that community.
At the end of the day, we can only go as fast as our slowest part. And if we're going slow because we're trying to go alone, see what happens when you open up and try to go far with a supportive group of people cheering you on! Because when you're uplifted, you'll have renewed energy to return the favor and help uplift others.
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. ~ African Proverb
